This is a cross-functional, highly collaborative role that requires strong project management skills, the ability to synthesize complex technical information, and a heart for ministry impact. The Grant Acquisition Manager will support the Senior Director of Development and senior department leaders in stewarding foundation relationships and securing essential funding for mission-critical projects.

Collaborate with Technology Solutions and Finance to ensure ministry databases support accurate and accessible data for institutional funding. - Lead the coordination and collection of data, stories, metrics, and program impact narratives used in proposal development and post-award reporting.
- Ensure the timely submission of all grant-related deliverables, including proposals, budgets, and required reports.
Project Assessment & Research
- Conduct internal interviews and document reviews to identify emerging and fundable ministry projects and programs.
- Translate technical project materials into clear, funder-facing project summaries to guide the Grant Writer and other development staff.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal grant processes and help set annual improvement goals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends, foundation priorities, and philanthropic best practices in the faith-based nonprofit sector.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Serve as a liaison between the Development department and ministry/program staff to ensure clear understanding of goals, activities, and impact.
- Integrate research findings, project summaries, and data insights into proposal strategies.
- Act as a strategic resource to senior leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and policy stakeholders, ensuring alignment in program articulation.
Leadership & Strategic Support
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment between project planning and funder priorities.
- Facilitate “clarity conversations” with SLT members and project leads to surface key insights and resolve program ambiguity.
- Support timely and strategic review of proposal drafts by collaborating with internal reviewers.
- Help guide and track the execution of “moves management” strategies for institutional relationships and key accounts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Focus in nonprofit management, public administration, project management, communications, or research preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in grant coordination, nonprofit program management, institutional fundraising, or related work.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work remotely with cross-functional teams.
- Proven adaptability – As a tech-based organization, it is necessary for each GMO team member to adapt and learn new tools as technology evolves.
- Passion for GMO’s mission and a commitment to excellence in ministry service.
