Future Initiatives and Ever-Changing Technology

Over two decades ago, long before smartphones and search engines dominated our lives, God planted a vision in our founder’s heart: using the Internet to share the Gospel with the world. Today, that seed has blossomed into a global movement, touching lives in every corner of the globe.

Because of God’s grace and the generous support of donors, Global Media Outreach is celebrating 20 years of spreading the Gospel! Nearly 300 million people have begun or grown in their relationships with Jesus.

However, as the world and digital landscape change, we’re excited to move into the next decade with Mission Possible, our bold initiative to amplify God’s love and hope on an unprecedented scale. We call this initiative the 5-star-strategy:

The vision is to double the lives impacted in our first 20 years in less than half the time.

5 star strategy

For our entire 20-year history, prayer has been the foundation of Global Media Outreach. Our staff starts every morning in prayer together. We pray over each other, the ministry as a whole, and the people who come to us searching for answers. And we constantly evaluate the best, most effective means to share the love of Jesus with the world.

And, as things rapidly advance in technology, we methodically stay ahead of the curve by embracing emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and other new technological advances that help us continuously enhance our Gospel-sharing efforts.

So, let’s talk about Artificial intelligence (AI).

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a part of science and technology in which people work to make computers and machines act like humans. This means teaching machines to think, learn, and make decisions like humans.

  • Think: AI can understand different situations and choose what to do next.
  • Learn: The more someone uses AI, the better it gets because it constantly studies and gathers material and information.
  • Act: AI can do tasks for us, like answering questions, playing games, or recognizing faces, using the information it has learned.

Summarized, AI thinks through a problem, learns how to do things better, and then provides the information it has learned to the person using the technology.

AI is often used when there is too much information for people to handle on their own. It helps to solve problems faster and more efficiently. Our willingness to innovate ensures we can reach more people than ever, inviting them into a relationship with Christ.

“AI isn’t just a technology; it’s a mindset shift. It’s about empowering people with tools that amplify their capabilities, enabling them to tackle challenges and explore solutions in ways previously unimaginable.”

—Yvonne Carlson, Global Media Outreach, Chief Technology Officer

The NRB, the World’s Largest Association of Christian Communicators, recently met to discuss fundraising and digital technology. Our Chief Technology Officer, Yvonne Carlson, who is also on the Board of the NRB, spoke about AI at the conference and how it relates to furthering the spread of the Gospel. She explains that as technology evolves swiftly, we can diligently maintain our lead by adopting emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and other innovations. These tools empower us to consistently improve our endeavors and spread the Gospel.

Conclusion:

As a leader in technology-driven Gospel outreach, Global Media Outreach is committed to breaking down barriers and touching hearts across the globe. We’re poised to make a lasting impact in the digital age through innovative solutions, online presence, global collaborations, and a commitment to embracing emerging trends. Together, let’s seize this opportunity to spread the love of Jesus so that all people have the chance to know Him.
