The words were barely out of the doctorβs mouth before Michael, a young, seemingly healthy man from Ohio, had a flood of dread fall over him. βCystic fibrosis.β The thoughts raced through his head: βHow will I be able to live a normal life? When will I die? What does all this mean?β Most people diagnosed with the disease, including Michaelβs mother, die before they reach the age of 50.
Since that day, Michael has had to deal with the daily fear, anxiety and worry that come along with a fatal diagnosis, not to mention the expensive medications that are helping treat his many symptoms.

Another factor that the diagnosis brought Michael was a sense of urgency about life that
most other people his age arenβt forced to live with. Being faced with his mortality so early in life led Michael on a frantic journey to seek out answers to lifeβs biggest spiritual questions.
Near the beginning of his search, Michael divinely intersected with a Global Media Outreach Gospel presentation, which caused him to fully consider his nominally Christian background more seriously. After submitting a question, Michael got in contact with Steve, his volunteer Online Missionary, and Michaelβs life was changed forever.
After only a few times conversing, Michael felt so safe talking to his Online Missionary that he brought him one of lifeβs biggest questions.

At this point in his life, Michael thought he was saved because he was raised in a Christian family. With the Gospel fully and clearly explained to him by Steve, Michael came to a startling realization: he had never put his full faith in Jesus as his Lord.
Michael explained, βAfter reading what you had to say, I came to the conclusion that I really havenβt accepted Jesus and allowed Him to save me and bring me closer to God so that I can have the life and personality a true Christian should have.β

This true acceptance of Christ started an undeniable fire in Michael that led to him becoming an Online Missionary with Global Media Outreach, a seminary student and eventually a pastor of his local church.
Now, Michael is a reproducing believer who shephards many to the ultimate truth of Jesus Christ as Lord. God was able to do all of this through a simple Gospel presentation to Michael and faithful work from Steve, his Online Missionary. As life continues with uncertainty because of his disease, Michael can be assured of one thing: his name is written in the Book of Life!
