Beyond the Conflict: Finding the Prince of Peace Through a Digital Screen

Despite the intense conflict in the Middle East, God is hard at work. Hear from Tracy, one of our Middle East and North Africa Language Team leaders, as she shares how seekers are finding the peace of Christ through our Online Missionaries and the digital technology they use to share the Gospel in restricted regions.

Across the Middle East, intense conflict and uncertainty have left millions feeling like they have nowhere else to turn. In this region, people rarely have safe or direct access to a church, a Bible, or a believer they can speak with openly.

But when physical spaces become unsafe or inaccessible, the digital space becomes a sanctuary where people can process their pain honestly.

“People are searching from a place of urgency and vulnerability,” says Tracy, a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) language team leader with Global Media Outreach. “Many are asking questions they may not feel safe voicing out loud. These are questions about fear, loss, purpose, and God.”

Right now, Tracy is witnessing a quiet but significant openness across the region. A crisis exposes deeper questions, making seekers more spiritually open than usual.

Tracy and her team of Online Missionaries (OMs) do not force answers. Instead, they meet people at their exact moment of need with clarity, truth, and compassion.

Without this digital presence, many seekers would simply remain anxious and alone with their questions.

The Prince of Peace

That digital presence recently changed everything for Tariq.*

A married father of three from a mostly closed country in the MENA region, Tariq was out of work and surrounded by struggle. Over the course of two months, Tracy’s team engaged in regular conversation with him, listening to his story and walking alongside him as he desperately searched for peace.

Through that consistent connection, Tariq found exactly what he was looking for. He began to sense a different reality in his heart—one marked by peace rather than conflict.

“I felt the peace and love of Christ deeply, far from the conflicts and struggles I used to see around me,” Tariq shared with the team. “This feeling made me long for the Lord Jesus, and I sensed that He cares for me and is with me at all times and in every place.”

Convinced that the Lord had revealed Himself through both creation and His Word, Tariq began to distance himself from ideas associated with conflict, hatred, or harm. In this process, he came to see Christianity as the way of truth, and Jesus as the Prince of Peace.

Ministering in the Crossfire

What makes Tracy’s team so uniquely equipped to reach seekers like Tariq is that they are ministering to people in crisis while living through the exact same crisis themselves.

Because they live in the region, they possess a real, experienced understanding of the people, the struggles, and the heavy questions they carry.

“The Gospel messages we share are not distant or theoretical; they are deeply personal to us as well,” Tracy explains. “Knowing that we are here with purpose and that our work aligns with God’s will sustains us and gives us the strength to keep going.”

Will You Provide Hope in the Middle East Today?

In a region where access is limited, your generosity allows our teams to remain present, responsive, and intentional. Tracy and her team specifically ask for prayers for emotional resilience, protection, and wisdom in sensitive conversations, as well as prayers that seekers’ hearts will remain open to the truth.

Here is how you can step into the gap today:

  • Be in prayer for Tracy, our MENA team of OMs, and the seekers in the region in desperate need of Christ’s grace and mercy.
  • Learn more about becoming an Online Missionary for the language(s) you speak. You don’t have to live in the same part of the world to bring the Gospel to people desperate for hope.
  • Give a gift to help more Gospel ads reach people in their moment of need.
