Global Media Outreach officially launched in 2004. The first major campaign that ran was a collaboration with ‘The Passion of the Christ,’ which resulted in more than 20,000 indicated decisions for Christ.
During this time, our small team was located in a windowless office in California and working on a secure response system that would allow volunteers to safely respond to the thousands that were interacting with the online Gospel presentations.
One main reason for the success of Global Media Outreach as a Silicon Valley startup was the support founder Walt Wilson had from people already in ministry, including Steve Douglass, president of Campus Crusade for Christ and Paul Eshleman, founder of Jesus Film Project.
By God’s grace, we’re on pace to double Walt’s vision and reach 2 billion with the Gospel by the end of 2020. What an amazing testament to the greatness of the Lord!
