Meet Our Interns (Part Two)
If you didn’t get a chance to check out last week’s blog, feel free to go back and read about Sarah, Jonathan, and Jake! This week Sydney, Michael, and Taryn will be introducing themselves and what they’ve been up to here at Global Media Outreach. Let’s get started…
My name is Michael Farrell. I was born and raised in Southern Maryland, where corn & wheat fields are abundant and the chesapeake bay blue crabs are a delicacy. I am the youngest in my family with an older brother and sister and a loving mother and father who raised me in a Christian home. I normally start my day of as an online missionary and respond to e-mails from people across the globe and that has been super fulfilling each morning. So far on this project I have been designing a new virtual set for Godlife webcasts. I have helped video production for our new summer series "The Real Interns of SV", which has been so much fun doing life with the other interns (And getting it all on film!!) Getting to step out in faith and co-host the first YouLive webcast has shown me that God WANTS to use me while I'm here, as His word says in Ephesians 2:10,
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do the good works which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Hello! My name is Taryn and I’m from Byron, MN. I love meeting new people, and learning their stories, so working at Global Media Outreach is a great fit. Being able to come to California where I can use my skills to further God’s Kingdom has truly been a blessing. The people here at GMO are so fun to work with and are very supportive of us. They are very helpful and patient with us as we grow both professionally and spiritually. While I’ve been here, I’ve been working on a project with Sarah, another intern. We have been busy developing the screen graphics for the youLive webcasts that have been airing live on Wednesday’s at 11am PST. We also have been working together to create the countdown, 2-minute loop and the intro and outro to the youLive webcasts. I can’t believe that it’s already the third week here; time has flown by so quickly! But I’m really looking forward to what the next couple of weeks will bring us!
Hi, this is Sydney. I label myself as a bit of an enigma. I love to learn about tons of different topics and am considered a purveyor of knowledge. My time with GMO has already been so enlightening. As a marketing and public relations intern, I do a lot of writing, researching, reviewing and note-taking. A highlight of the past few weeks is writing my first press release for GMO. I love that the staff here provides us with so many real-life opportunities to use our skills in a corporate work environment; it is such a blessing. Also, I really enjoy the team of interns that God assembled. We have grown so close so quickly, and they are a great bunch of people. I cannot wait to see how God continues to move in my life and in the rest of my brilliant team this summer!
Thanks for reading about us interns! Stay tuned for another blog about our lives next week!
