Global Media Outreach is on mission to share Jesus Christ online, with a goal to provide everyone around the world with multiple opportunities to hear the Gospel. Our expertise is using technology to share the Gospel over 250,000 times per day across the globe.  We develop tools and practices to help more than 4,000 volunteers working in 20+ languages disciple new and recommitting believers.  We distribute content from partner Christian organizations as well as developer our own content.

We are looking to hire a talented Digital and Social Media Content Manager.  The successful manager will work in multiple social media channels including Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, as well as traditional websites, to create engagement with individuals ultimately helping them learn about Christ, His love for everyone, and how to grow in Christian discipleship.   This will be done across many cultures, languages, and countries with the help of Global Media Outreach staff around the world.

This individual is a highly-creative, highly-curious, tech-savvy individual who has an intense desire to draw spiritual seekers into meaningful and measurable engagements through the use of multimedia content.  The individual enjoys defining personas and discovering new stories and content that meet and communicate with the individual personas “where they are in life”.   

We are looking for a healthy balance of creative, editorial and technical skills as well as strong time-management abilities, careful attention to detail and thoughtful client communications.  He/she is a leader with the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture, curate, design, write, and produce and publish multimedia content that drives traffic and seeker engagement.
  • Initiate, propose and execute ideas for new content, maximizing its use across all communication channels including social media and websites
  • Contributes to the development of social media strategy and content on Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and other social media networks.
  • Work with partner organizations to understand what content they have relevant to seekers and determine how to best use that content across Global Media Outreach’s distribution channels
  • Participate in measuring the effectiveness of created content and attribute results to your performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external influencers to produce content.
  • Analyze and Optimize Content: Upload content and conduct A/B testing.
  • Manage a content creation schedule and allocated budget.
  • Understand website, campaign and social media analytics with a view toward enhancing content performance and traffic 
  • Drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics; use the website and campaign analytics to identify trends, assess data, and enhance content performance and traffic 
  • Ensure content reflects the tone, style and branding message of Global Media Outreach; ensure branding and tone are consistent across multiple media platforms 

Job Requirements: Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in editorial and content development, and distributing content through digital channels
  • Demonstrable understanding of digital distribution channels and basic performance measurements
  • Experience with at least one web content management system and one email distribution platform
  • Must be deeply familiar with social media best practices and trends, and with web content best practices and trends
  • Engaging and impressive writing and editing skills with the ability to adopt content style and tone to multiple seeker personas
  • Experience integrating content from external organizations with internally created content to create a meaningful multi-faceted message path for multiple audiences
  • Good understanding of what types of content work best on which social platforms, including social video trends and how to best use video
  • Experience with social media management tools and how to best use specific tools
  • Demonstrable understanding of digital distribution channels and basic performance measurements
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively in an international environment
  • Must be able to multitask and perform well under tight deadlines 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • Nice to Have: Experience scripting and managing the creation of video content.
